NOVA — our impression of Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois. Italian mandarin and saffron up top, violet and Chinese osmanthus through the heart, then akigalawood, suede and a cool mineral dryness underneath. Spicy-woody and slightly strange in the way niche fragrances are — it doesn't smell like anything else on the shelf, which is exactly why people ask about it.

The matching NOVA Perfume Wax. The same scent in solid form, carried in shea butter, white oil and beeswax. Worked into your pulse points before you spray, it gives the fragrance something to grip instead of letting it evaporate off dry skin. Up to ten hours of wear.

The wax isn't a substitute for the spray — it's the base layer under it. It's also 30g in a flat tin, so you can top up before dinner without carrying a glass bottle in your pocket.

How to wear it

  1. Take a fingertip of wax and work it into wrists, neck and behind the ears.
  2. Spray NOVA over the same points while the wax is still tacky.
  3. Reapply the wax through the day wherever you need it.
